Farm Bill Listening Session: Monday, July 31 in Freeport

Chairman GT Thompson of the U.S. House Ag Committee will host a listening session for the upcoming U.S. Farm Bill Reauthorization on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 2 PM at Freeport High School, 20 Holbrook Street, Freeport, Maine.


The Farm Bill covers everything from nutrition access to support for local farmers markets, markets for forest products, and resources for organic and conventional producers. More information about what’s in the upcoming Farm bill can be found here.


Participants in the July 31st listening session are invited to share information about their farm operation or organization, USDA programs they participate in, and ideas for the Farm Bill that could benefit Mainers. Those who plan to contribute remarks at the event must RSVP HERE to speak. There is a 2-minute limit for spoken comments.
